To local residents and visitors, a festival is a fun way to spend a day celebrating their community with family and friends. But for the CASID and its members, festivals and other events present a unique opportunity to showcase the rich cultural and economic life of the Heights' main street. The traffic and parking disruptions involved in a festival do make it necessary for businesses to change the way that they operate for one day, but the long-term benefits are clear. By bringing thousands - even tens of thousands - of people to Central Avenue for a festival, the CASID offers businesses the chance to put their best face forward and bring those same people back as regular customers throughout the year.

JC Studio Tour Extension - 2010
The Central Avenue Special Improvement District Management Corporation (CASID) in partnership with Councilman Ward D, Bill Gaughan, the Jersey City Division of Cultural Affairs, Jersey City Pro Arts, Jersey City Museum, The Distillery Gallery & Artspace, and Heights Artist Initiative are pleased to announce our collaborative effort to participate in the Jersey City Artists' Studio Tours October 1-3, 2010.

Everything Jersey City Festival - 2010

The CASID is pleased to announce that the second annual Everything Jersey City Festival will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2009! To build on the momentum of the successful first festival in 2008, there are many plans in the works to make this festival even bigger and better.
Everything Jersey City Festival - 2008
By all accounts, the first annual Everything Jersey City Festival was a great success! Over 12,000 neighbors gathered on Central Avenue on a beautiful Saturday in May 2008 to enjoy the celebration, which featured three stages of entertainment, rides and activities for the kids, and much, much more.
